You read that right – GUMMY BEARS! This easy recipe can be made with regular Cheerwine or Cheerwine Zero Sugar – as bears or any other fun shapes for all that Cheerwine gummy goodness.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Cheerwine or Cheerwine Zero Sugar
- 4 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
Instructions
Stovetop Method
In saucepot, heat Cheerwine until boiling. Remove from heat, add gelatin, then whisk to combine.
Microwave Method
In microwave-safe bowl, heat Cheerwine until boiling (about 3 minutes). Carefully remove from microwave, add gelatin, then whisk to combine.
Using a candy syringe, fill silicone bear (or other shape) molds. Place in freezer overnight to fully set. Pop gummy bears out and store in airtight container.
The second batch was much better. The first, I had to throw out. Sprinkling gelatin into hot liquid just made it clump together. I later read that you should put the gelatin in room temp. water/soda/juice for about 5 min. to help it dissolve better in the hot mixture.
