Not your average meatball here – as seen in our recipe videos, you’ll love this savory recipe with Tomato-Cheerwine glaze!


  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups steel cut oatmeal
  • ¼ cup of water
  • ¾ cup fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 cup Cheerwine
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar


Preheat oven to 400. In a large bowl, combine ground meat, egg, oatmeal, water, parsley, ½ cup Cheerwine, 1 clove minced garlic and parmesan cheese. Shape meat mixture into balls and place on parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes. Meanwhile, in a stock pot combine crushed tomatoes, ½ cup Cheerwine, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar and cook over medium heat until thickened. Remove from heat and pour some glaze into a small bowl (reserving the rest for serving) and brush each meatball with glaze. Return to oven for an additional 5 minutes. Serve with reserved sauce.
