Delicious recipes made with Cheerwine don’t have to be full of sugar. Introducing our Keto-friendly low carb and sugar-free Cheerwine donuts with Cheerwine glaze. These easy donuts are made with Cheerwine Zero Sugar, almond flour and baked not fried!
- 2 ¼ cups almond flour
- ½ cup granulated sweetener of choice (monk fruit or erythritol)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup Cheerwine Zero Sugar
- 1 cup confectioners style sweetener (Swerve or erythritol)
- ¼ cup Cheerwine Zero Sugar (more as needed)
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a 12-count donut pan generously and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, add your almond flour, granulated sweetener and baking soda and mix well. In a separate medium bowl, add your eggs, apple cider vinegar, heavy cream and Cheerwine and mix together until blended smoothly. Combine your wet ingredients into your dry ingredients and mix well until just combined.
Spoon the batter into the donut wells careful not to overfill them (¾ full will yield perfect round donuts).
Bake the donuts for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
While they cool, prepare the glaze.
In a small bowl, whisk together confectioners sweetener and Cheerwine Zero Sugar, adding a splash at a time more of the Cheerwine until you have a nice pourable glaze. This can be thickened by adding a teaspoon of sweetener or thinned with a splash of Cheerwine Zero Sugar at a time until you reach the desired consistency. Once your donuts are completely cooled, you can glaze them by spooning glaze over them or by simply “dunking” them in the glaze and turning them and then setting back on the wire rack to set.
