Cherry twist on an old favorite. Cheerwine and Bourbon – a match made in the South. Easy to make. Easy to enjoy.

  • ¾ ounce Cheerwine Syrup
  • 2 ounces rye whiskey
  • 2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • Orange peel (garnish)

Add ice to rocks glass. Add all ingredients. Stir for 5-7 seconds to combine. Garnish with swath of orange peel, squeezed over ice, and wiped along the rim of glass.

Overall Rating:

  1. These are KILLER! Awesome fresh take on a classic drink. Note: subbed two dashes of regular bitters and a squeezed orange wedge for the orange bitters.

  2. This is awesome. I usually shake about 4 dashes of Angostura in a glass of just Cheerwine so I already knew those flavors worked well together but this cocktail takes it to a new level.

  3. I’ve been making this for years! One of my favorite riffs on an Old Fashioned. Whether you stick to the classic Angostura or experiment with your Bitters, the Cheerwine goes well with it all.
