This Brooklyn riff is a surefire way to end any night this holiday season. Rich, smooth and savory with a tickle of spice.
Ingredients
Cocktail
- 1 1/4 ounces Diplomatico Dark Rum
- 3/4 ounce Mulled Cheerwine Syrup, prepared
- 1/2 ounce Averna Amaro
- 1/4 ounce Velvet Falernum
Mulled Cheerwine Syrup
- 32 ounces Cheerwine Holiday Punch
- 16 ounces sugar
- 1 Teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 Teaspoon fresh clove
- 3 Star Anise Pods
- 3 sticks of cinnamon
- 2 Tablespoons of Pomegranate Molasses
- 2 ounces fresh-squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 ounces fresh-squeezed lemon juice
Instructions
Mulled Cheerwine Syrup
Combine all ingredients in a medium sized saucepan and place over medium heat.
Stir and simmer for 12-15 minutes until sugar is dissolved and spices are fragrant.
Double strain (cheese cloth is a nice touch to keep consistency) and set aside to use for drinks.
Cocktail
Add all ingredients into a mixing glass and stir over ice for 10 seconds.
Strain into your favorite coupe or Nick & Nora glass.
Garnish with a fresh twist of orange (twist your citrus for essence).
