Roger Kongkham of Supperland in Charlotte, N.C., crafts Holiday Cheer, a bold blend of Del Maguey Vida mezcal and Muddy River coconut rum, with zesty lime, tamarind and intricate accents of mole bitters and saline tincture, all crowned with a Cheerwine Holiday Punch floater and a star anise garnish for a festive, smoky-sweet symphony.

Ingredients

  • 1 Ounce Del Maguey Vida mezcal
  • 1 Ounce Muddy River coconut rum
  • 3/4 Ounces lime juice
  • 1 Ounce tamarind syrup
  • 1 dash 20% saline tincture
  • 2 dashes mole bitters
  • Cheerwine Holiday Punch floater
  • 1 piece star anise

Instructions

Add all ingredients (except Cheerwine Holiday Punch) to a cocktail tin and shake. Strain over fresh ice. Top with Holiday Cheerwine Punch floater and star anise.
