The holiday season is upon us, and we cannot wait to bake up this new pie from our friend and recipe creator @Momoredpepperflake.
Ingredients
Pie Filling Ingredients
- 5–6 cups dark pitted whole cherries (thaw if frozen)
- 2 tablespoons Cheerwine Syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour or corn starch
Crust & Crumble Ingredients
- 2 sticks of salted butter, room temp
- 1 cup flour
- ½ cup white sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ºF
- In a large bowl, add all of the crust and crumble ingredients. Mix with your hands until it’s a crumbly dough.
- In a separate bowl, add all of the filling ingredients and mix together with a spoon.
- Reserve a handful of the dough to the side and then add the rest of the dough to the bottom and walls of a pie dish and press into place using your hands.
- Add your cherry filling and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the reserved crumble dough across the top of the cherry filling.
- Bake for 20 minutes and serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
