The holiday season is upon us, and we cannot wait to bake up this new pie from our friend and recipe creator @Momoredpepperflake.

Ingredients

Pie Filling Ingredients

  • 56 cups dark pitted whole cherries (thaw if frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons Cheerwine Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour or corn starch

 Crust & Crumble Ingredients

  • 2 sticks of salted butter, room temp
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF
  2. In a large bowl, add all of the crust and crumble ingredients. Mix with your hands until it’s a crumbly dough.
  3. In a separate bowl, add all of the filling ingredients and mix together with a spoon.
  4. Reserve a handful of the dough to the side and then add the rest of the dough to the bottom and walls of a pie dish and press into place using your hands.
  5. Add your cherry filling and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the reserved crumble dough across the top of the cherry filling.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes and serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
